capital.

Upon
arrival at Palma de Mallorca airport you can either choose a
taxi, probably the most economical option if you are
travelling as a group, or for the single traveller the
shuttle service will be
the more economical choice.

your hotel, resort or villa.

often included in the price, if you have booked a package
holiday deal with the main tour operators.

exclusively in Mallorca Airport with on-line

at prices low cost, without supplemental nocturnal nor

Inter-Island
Transport Mallorca
Inter-Island
flights between Mallorca, Ibiza, and Menorca and are
operated by Iberia and take around 30 minuets and will cost
you more than the ferry, but the views of the islands is
certainly some compensation.
See Balearic inter-island flights for
further details.
If you choose to travel by sea between the
Balearic Islands and mainland Spain
Trasmediterranea
offers a pleasant voyage with restaurant and bar facilities
on board. A fast catamaran service is operated by
Balearia
and offers good refreshment facilities too.
Iscomar
has more limited connections but is still worth
investigating. As the routes are given to change, please
check at the respective websites for exact island
connections. Be aware that hire cars will have a stipulation
in the contract agreement that will forbid you taking the
vehicle off the island.
Balearexpress
is for holiday makers who have plenty of time to drive down
to France, and are looking for ferry connections, from Sete
(southern France) to the Balearic islands.
Mallorca Bus
The local bus service is extensive and
fairly reliable, and links the main towns. Unlike Ibiza and
Menorca there are several bus companies operating on
Mallorca, so it can make getting around a bit more puzzling,
take care with the time table and displayed return times you
use. The bus service will be very limited on Sundays and
public holidays. Bus stops are indicated by the word
parada. Tickets can be brought either in advance at the
bus station, or directly from the bus driver upon
embarkation. See
Mallorca transport - bus
for further timetable information.
Mallorca
Railway
Mallorca
has two railway lines
which are both narrow-gauge, with their own stations
situated at Placa d'Espanya in Palma close to each other.
Mallorca has two rail routes. One crosses the hinterlands of
the island's centre, from Palma to Inca where the line
divides in two directions; one south-east towards Sineu,
Petra and Manacor. While the other traverses north-east on
to Sa Pobla. The Island's second stretch of track journeys
north of Palma, through the mountains to Soller, and has the
justifiable reputation of offering the visiting tourist the
most magical and spectacular glimpse of the mallorcan
scenery possible. Highly recommended as an enjoyable day
out!

Mallorca Taxis
Taxis can either be hailed if the green
light is illuminated, or boarded at taxi stands in towns
which are indicated by a blue square with a T in the middle,
or alternatively phoned for. All taxis are both licensed and
metered. They are usually good value around Palma, but offer
less value as you travel out from Palma.
Please
find below a good selection of taxi firms operating across
Mallorca. Do not assume they all speak fluent English, it
can depend on who answers the phone - after all this is
Spain! Remember to include the prefix: 00 (34) if phoning
from the UK.

Mallorca
Cycle hire
Cycle hire is very popular
in Mallorca and is highly recommended. What a way to see the
Island, enjoy the sun and get a bit of exercise, all at a
very fair price. The central plain and Eastern and Southern
coasts are particularly bicycle friendly.
Mallorca Boat
Trips
During
the summer months there are a number of boat trips,
from resorts such as; Port de Soller, Cala d’Or, and Port de
Pollenca. There are also excursions circumnavigating Palma
Bay. There is a boat tour which is in operation right
throughout the year. It sails from Port de Soller to Sa
Colobra, sailing around the Northwest coast. Tel 971 630170.
